Artist Statement:

In Held by Silent Weight, I explore psychological, emotional, and physical spaces that reflect the tension between routine and transformation. The work is rooted in the quiet rhythms of domestic life, where moments of comfort coexist with an undercurrent of stagnation. Through a labyrinthine approach to sequencing, the photographs act as psychological gestures—each object, landscape, and figure becoming a metaphor for emotional states, memories, or pivotal moments in an unfolding narrative.

The wild spaces within the work represent both a longing for freedom and a return to safety, acting as psychological landscapes that mirror the search for balance between belonging and the weight of stillness.

Held by Silent Weight is not just a documentation of domestic life but an emotional cartography—a visual map of the interplay between safety, stagnation, and the beauty found in life’s quieter moments. Through this journey, the book reveals the complex, layered experience of finding home both physically and psychologically.
