Monochrome Minnesota
I created Monochrome Minnesota over the span of four years while I attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in Minnesota. I wanted to create a series of work that showed some of my best photographs, while also showcasing iconic places in Minnesota that I had photographed over the years. Minnesota is a beautiful place, and that is rarely known to those who haven’t lived here or visited.
In August of 2017, I approached Wesley Andrews in Minneapolis, MN with the idea of presenting the series physically in a gallery show. I wanted to print the photos large, and edit them using a classical black and white editing style. My intention in doing this is to present the images with a timeless feel, while also respecting the branding and design of Wesley Andrews and their gorgeous location. I want anyone, of any age, to be able to appreciate and recognize these iconic locations for what they are, timeless.
